Tennis Circuits
Circuits were created and developed here at ClubSport Valley Vista in 1972. This wildly popular play scheme has caught on and is now being run at dozens of clubs in Northern California. Valley Vista typically has over 400 circuit players. Circuits consist of groupings of 8-10 players or teams of similar playing ability. Players set-up their own matches and record their scores. Men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles circuits are available.
Getting Started
Sign-ups are at the Activities Desk. New players are assigned a circuit that best represents their playing ability. Doubles teams are positioned by their average ten cap rating.
Choose from three annual circuits, or play them all!
Winter: January 15 - April 15
Summer: May 15 - August 15
Fall: September 15 - December 15
Scheduling
All circuit schedules are available at the Leagues-For-Fun website. Instructions on how to use the website are available at the club. All matches must be played during the allotted circuit time, with no extensions granted.
To arrange a match, phone your opponent and schedule a date and time that is mutually agreeable to play. If after your second call attempt, you do not receive a return call within 10 days, you must record the match as a default. Once play has started, matches must be played to completion unless a time constraint was agreed upon by the players before play began.
Match Play & Scoring
- Each player or team should bring a new can of balls. The winner of the match gets to keep the new, unopened balls while the loser gets the used balls.
- Matches shall be the best of three sets with a tiebreaker at six all. Regular ad scoring should be used unless agreed upon by both partners.
- At the conclusion of the match, players must record scores on the Leagues-For-Fun website. Player's standing will be calculated
- Winners receive 20 points regardless of the score. The loser's points are equal to the number of games they won in all of their sets. For example, in a three set loss, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, the loser would receive 11 points while the winner receives 20.
- All defaults will be recorded as 15 points for the winner and 0 for the loser.
- Players with the most total points will be declared the champions. In case of a tie, game winning percantage will be the deciding factor.
