Altitude Training & CompuTrainer

The Summit – Altitude Studio Training
The Summit Training Studio can simulate altitudes of up to 21,000ft/6,400m through the production of normobaric hypoxic (oxygen reduced) air. As a result, athletes, fitness enthusiasts and health–conscious individuals can take advantage of the benefits associated with altitude training while at ClubSport.

Maximize Speed – Improve Endurance, Strength and Enhanced Energy – Increase VO2

Altitude training, also known as hypoxic training, involves exercising in, living in or otherwise breathing oxygen reduced air for the purpose of improved athletic performance, pre–acclimatization to altitude.

How it Works
When the human body is exposed to hypoxia (oxygen reduced environments), it struggles to produce required amounts of energy with less available oxygen. This struggle triggers the onset of a range of physiological adaptations geared towards enhancing the efficiency of the body's respiratory, cardiovascular and oxygen utilization systems.

STAGE 21 – CompuTrainer
Monday, 6–7AM
Wednesday, 6–7PM
Saturday, 7–8:30AM & 8:45–10:00AM

CompuTrainer provides the most interesting indoor bike experience ever created. It can increase your cycling power by 20 to 30% and your speed by 2 to 4 MPH. Whatever your starting point, you'll improve significantly. CompuTrainer is more than a premier bike trainer. It’s also a precision bicycle ergo meter measuring wattage, heart rate, and cadence with a peak power rating in excess of 1500 Watts to simulate road grades up to 15%.

Cycling and triathlon coaches worldwide use CompuTrainer as their primary testing and training instrument.

Interval Rides
Monday, 6:00 AM
Wednesday, 6:15–7:15 PM
One training variable that helps cyclists achieve peak performance is interval work. Intervals help with the following: neuromuscular training, muscular endurance (the ability to produce and sustain power), and the ability to hold an ideal power range under prescribed time span. Intervals can be tailored to each individual’s current fitness level and fitness goals. Riders are able to work on specific intervals uninterrupted by cars, traffic signals, changes in terrain, weather, or the speed of other riders.

Hill Rides
Wednesday, 6:15–7:15PM
Training for hills is an effective way to maximize your training time. Working at a higher threshold for short bursts will help encourage faster recovery during long rides.

Endurance Rides
Saturday, 7–8:30AM &  8:45–10:00 AM
Endurance is a training variable of cycling that every cyclist, regardless of training goals, must develop. In Stage 21, endurance can be achieved in a controlled environment throughout the year. The cyclist is always working therefore total ride time can be reduced when compared to goal times for outside riding. We have several real course videos of Ironman courses to provide a more enhanced experience.
