Kids Swimming
Your kids won't want to get out of the water at ClubSport. Our beautifully landscaped outdoor aquatics center, with its children's splash and play pool, caters to every type and style of swimmer. Private and group swimming lessons are always available, as are recreational swim times.
Parent Infant Water Awareness (Ages 6 mos. - 2 yrs)
A water awareness class for children and parents, where the parent is in the water helping to introduce swim skills to their child. Parents must be in the water to help introduce swim skills to their child. Games and songs are included as part of the learning process to help children relax and be comfortable in the water. 8:1 class ratio.
Pee Wee (Ages 2-3)
This is the first swimming course for children who are ready to be away from their parents. We introduce children to water safety and help them adjust to having a new person working with them in the pool. Swim diapers are required. 3:1 class ratio.
Preschool 1 (Ages 3-4)
Children learn water safety and basic skills like bobbing, floating and kicking correctly on their stomach and back. Children will also learn breath control and basic swim movements. 3:1 class ratio.
Preschool 2 (Ages 3-5)
Students should be able to float on their stomach and back unassisted. Children will begin to add “big arms” to their freestyle stroke. Students will also be introduced to elementary backstroke arms. 3:1 class ratio.
Preschool 3 (Ages 4-5)
Students continue to build upon levels 1 & 2 by adding side breathing to their freestyle stroke and competition backstroke arms to their back streamlines. 4:1 class ratio.
Preschool 4 (Ages 4-5)
Students are introduced to the breaststroke kick, sculling and treading water. Children should be able to swim across the pool in at least two styles with developed form. 4:1 class ratio.
Youth 1 (Ages 5-8)
Designed for the non-swimmer to learn the basics of body positioning, kicking and arm movement. Students become proficient at streamlining and kicking. They will learn basic freestyle and elementary backstroke. 3:1 class ratio.
Youth 2 (Ages 6-9)
To enroll in this course children must have passed the Youth 1 Class and be able to submerge unassisted, return to the wall and have the ability to float on their stomach and back. Students learn side breathing and competition backstroke technique. 3:1 class ratio.
Youth 3 (Ages 7-12)
To enroll in this course children should have passed Youth 2 within a year. Students build on Youth 2 acquiring new skills including the breaststroke kick with new drills to help them develop a technically superior freestyle and backstroke. 4:1 class ratio.
Youth 4 (Ages 7-12)
Learn bilateral breathing techniques and more technical aspects of backstroke including torso roll and correct hand positioning. Also, get an introduction to breaststroke and sequencing aspects of butterfly. 5:1 class ratio.
Youth 5 (Ages 8-12)
Introduction to flip turns and the dolphin kick building stamina for swimming full laps in the competition pool. 5:1 class ratio.
Youth 6 (Ages 8-12)
This is the last of the advanced beginner courses. Students will continue to work on breaststroke and flip turns are introduced as part of the butterfly stroke. Students start to develop endurance in the pool in preparation for Youth 7. 5:1 class ratio.
Youth 7 – Pre-competition (Ages 8-12)
Practice advanced techniques with the goal of becoming competitive swimmers and succeed in our youth swim team tryout. Continue with basic foundations in swimming with break out strokes, individual medley flip turns, competition diving, distance per stroke and additional drill work. 8:1 class ratio.
Teen (Ages 12 & up)
An introductory course for teen swimmers. Classes start with body position and correct kicking technique on both stomach and back. Continue with freestyle, elementary backstroke and competition strokes. 5:1 class ratio.
